Level 1 and Level 2:  12-20 identical containers of plastic or cardboard will be placed in a pattern, the design, number and type will be determined by the course designer and selected to fit the level of the trial.

Level 3 and above: Various containers as selected by the course designer.

The target odour shall be in a small container and concealed on the exterior of a vehicle. Level 1 and Level 2 shall be 1-3 passenger vehicles, Level 3 and above can be 1-6 of any wheeled vehicle. The number and type of vehicles will be determined by the level of the trial.

The target odour shall be concealed on, under or in an object or concealed within the environment in an indoor search area. The search is conducted inside a room or building, Area will be 60-175sqm depending on the trial level.

The target odour shall be concealed on, under or in an object or concealed within the environment in an outdoor search area. The search will be conducted in an outside area, grass or hard surface with at least 2 perimeter sides open with or without a roof overhang. Area will be 100-500sqm depending on trial level.

The target odour shall be concealed on, under or in an object within a collection of items. The type and quantity of items will be determined by the level of the trial, and can be held indoors or outside as designated by the course designer.

The target odour shell be in a small container and concealed in an open field. The area to be covered off leash under voice control. 20sqm-200sqm depending on the level of the trial.
